Typhoon Yutu (‘Rosita’) will make landfall on 30 October 2018 on northern and central Luzon. Heavy rains, flash flooding, landslides and strong winds are expected which could result in disruptions to essential services including transportation, power distribution, telecommunications, food and water supply, emergency services and medical care. If you are in the area, monitor local news and weather reports and follow the advice of local authorities (see Natural disasters). The level of advice has not changed. Exercise a high degree of caution in the Philippines overall. Reconsider your need to travel to eastern Mindanao, and do not travel to central and western Mindanao, due to very high levels of violent crime, high threats of terrorist attacks and kidnapping. Martial law is in place in Mindanao until 31 December 2018.
